Pupil Leadership
Our children play an important role in shaping Collective Worship at Ireleth St Peter’s.
Our Worship Council supports worship across the school and helps ensure that pupil voice is at its heart. Children help to welcome everyone to worship, open our gathering with “Peace be with you”, contribute prayers and reflections and help bring worship to a close.
Children also have opportunities throughout the year to plan, lead and evaluate their own Class Collective Worship, developing confidence, leadership and a deeper understanding of worship.
Prayer and Spirituality
Prayer and reflection form an important part of daily life at ISP. Each classroom has a dedicated prayer and reflection space, providing children with opportunities to pause, think and pray.
We continue to develop opportunities for spirituality across our school environment, including our Prayer Garden and outdoor reflection spaces, allowing children to experience stillness, reflection, awe and wonder in different ways.
Our Church Family
We are very proud of our close relationship with St Peter’s Church, Ireleth, and our local clergy.
Father Tom is a valued and familiar member of our school community. He regularly joins us in school to lead worship, share Bible stories and spend time with the children. These regular opportunities help children to understand that our relationship with the church extends far beyond individual services and is an important part of the everyday life of our school.
Throughout the year, the whole school also visits St Peter’s Church to worship together and mark important occasions within the Christian calendar, including Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
Families and members of our wider community are warmly invited to join us for these special services.
Our church and school work together throughout the year to provide meaningful experiences for our children, helping them to explore Christian faith, prayer, worship and what it means to belong to a church-school family.
Worship Beyond the Hall
Collective Worship at Ireleth St Peter’s is not simply something that happens during assembly time. We encourage children to take the messages explored through worship into their everyday lives.
Whether showing friendship to someone who needs it, demonstrating courage when something is difficult, caring for our environment, supporting our local community or standing up for what is right, children are encouraged to consider how they can live out our Christian vision and values through their actions.
