The Arts

Subject Leaders: Miss. J. Wright

At ISP, The Arts encompasses several subjects including Art and Design, Music and Design and Technology.
The Arts curriculum has been designed to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, create and evaluate. It encourages children to think critically and develop a deeper understanding of the wider curriculum areas. At ISP, we enjoy a skills based approach to The Arts learning skills in the EYFS which we develop and build upon as the children progress through the years.

In Music at ISP, the children follow a custom-made Charanga scheme which where possible is linked to the topics our classes are learning.
Charanga combines the skills of listening and appraising, musical activities and performing through an integrated, practical, exploratory and child-led approach to music learning.

In Art, we enjoy a skills based approach to learning.
